Buchla LEM218
A touch-activated voltage source designed for the Buchla 200 series with two independent control channels.
Overview
The Buchla LEM218 is a Touch Activated Voltage Source built by Buchla USA for integration with the Buchla 200 series modular systems. It provides two independent channels of capacitive touch control, each generating control voltage based on applied pressure. The unit functions as a dynamic interface for expressive performance, offering both voltage output and gate/trigger signaling.

Design
The LEM218 features two independent channels, each with a capacitive touch pressure plate that outputs a voltage proportional to applied pressure. Each channel includes a tuning knob to adjust output offset voltage and a pressure knob to set sensitivity. The gate button sends a trigger signal, indicated by the gate LED. The octave switch shifts output by one octave, the range switch selects between 0–5V or 0–10V output ranges, and the mode switch sets the gate output to V-trig, S-trig, or Gate mode.
Context
The LEM218 is designed specifically as a control interface for the Buchla 200 series modular electronic music systems, expanding their tactile and expressive capabilities.
