Design
The Canon EOS 90D features a rear control wheel lock lever angled upward to prevent accidental activation when carried. The top and front dials are now knurled instead of ribbed for better grip. Stereo microphone input uses a single tiny hole on each side instead of four. The camera is 1.2 oz. (34g) lighter than the 80D and omits NFC, relying on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity.
Context
The Canon 90D replaces the 80D and offers higher linear resolution than any other interchangeable-lens camera, DSLR or mirrorless, full-frame or APS-C. A full-frame camera would need 83MP to match its per-millimeter pixel density. It is considered one of the best birding cameras ever, combining high resolution with 10 FPS burst shooting for effective cropping.
Market
The Canon EOS 90D launched at $1,199 for the body only and sells for about $950 used. It is praised as a well-rounded, highly capable camera with excellent color, tone, autofocus, and handling.
