Overview

The Canon EOS 77D is a DSLR camera introduced in February 2017 as a mid-tier model positioned between Canon's Rebel series and the EOS 80D. It shares core imaging components with the EOS Rebel T7i / 800D but adds a top LCD panel and a quick control dial for improved handling. Designed for enthusiasts, it features a 24.2 MP APS-C sensor with Dual Pixel CMOS AF, a 45-point all cross-type autofocus system in the optical viewfinder, and a vari-angle touchscreen LCD. It was also marketed as the EOS 9000D in Japan.

Design

The EOS 77D features a polycarbonate resin body with a glass fiber and aluminum chassis for durability. It includes a 3.0" vari-angle touchscreen LCD, Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth connectivity, plus a top LCD panel and quick control dial for direct access to settings.

Context

Announced in February 2017, the EOS 77D was marketed as a mid-range DSLR positioned above the Rebel series and below the EOS 80D. It shares the same sensor and core imaging specs as the EOS Rebel T7i / 800D but adds enthusiast-oriented controls. It was sold as the EOS 9000D in Japan.

Market

The EOS 77D launched at $899 for the body only. It has no widespread major faults reported, though buyers should verify accessories are included when purchasing used, as original boxes are not sealed.
