Design
The Sony TC-350 uses a 3-head design with separate erase, record, and playback heads, enabling off-tape monitoring during recording. The playback head is a Sony 2-micron unit, and the preamplifier section is fully solid-state, utilizing 18 low-noise, high-gain silicon transistors. It includes a binaural headphone jack, a dedicated volume control for sound-on-sound (S.O.S.) recording, and a micro switch that cuts transport power when the tape is fully wound. The deck supports both vertical and horizontal placement and includes a DIN terminal and tape counter. It is capable of 4-track monaural recording in addition to stereo.
