Design

The SS-RX3 features a three-way driver configuration with a woofer using a cone shape optimized via NASTRAN analysis and made from paper with POM (polyoxymethylene) whiskers, a material developed in collaboration with Japan’s Fiber and Polymer Materials Research Institute. The midrange diaphragm integrates POM whiskers and polyolefin resin for high rigidity and low mass, while the 2.5 cm soft dome tweeter uses an integrally molded flexible film diaphragm to reduce distortion. The magnetic circuit employs a large magnet and a slotted yoke to minimize distortion, and the driver is supported by a urethane edge and high-linearity damper.
