Kodak Cameo
A series of compact 35mm and 110 film cameras from Kodak, including fixed-focus, autofocus, and motorized variants, marketed for casual snapshot use.
Overview
The Kodak Cameo line includes multiple 35mm and 110 film cameras released in the early 1990s, designed for straightforward point-and-shoot photography. The base Kodak Cameo is a fixed-focus viewfinder camera using 35mm film, with a 34mm f/5.6 lens and fixed shutter speed of 1/125s. It supports film speeds from ISO 100/200 to 400 via a manual switch and features an integrated flash. Some users reported issues with the flash mechanism failing when the camera back broke. The Cameo AF, produced from 1994 to 1996, adds autofocus, automatic film advance and rewind, red-eye reduction, and a fold-out flash. The Cameo afm, also from 1994–1996, includes autofocus and a "panoramic" mode. The Cameo Sharp Focus model reads film speed via DX code and works with ISO 100 to 1000 film. Two 110 film variants exist: the Cameo 110, priced around $25–$35 in 1993, and the Cameo Motor 110, released the same year at $34.95. The Cameo Focus Free, launched in 1993 at $52.95, is a 35mm point-and-shoot with no additional specs documented.
