A medium format film camera with autofocus and autoexposure, designed for 120/220 film in 6x4.5cm format.
Overview
The Fujica GA645 is a medium format film camera made by Fujica, a brand of Fuji Photo Film. It shoots 6x4.5cm negatives on 120 or 220 roll film, with 15 or 16 exposures per 120 roll depending on version. The camera features a fixed Super-EBC Fujinon 60mm f/4 lens — a 6-element, 5-group multicoated planar-type lens — that delivers a field of view equivalent to a 35mm lens on a 35mm camera. It offers programmed and aperture-priority autoexposure, plus manual mode, and uses through-the-viewfinder metering. Autofocus is dual active/passive with a 900-step system, and the viewfinder includes parallax-corrected framelines, a central crosshair, and an LED readout for aperture, shutter speed, and focus distance.

Design
The Fujica GA645 has a plastic construction and features autoloading inspired by the Rollei Automat. It supports automatic 120/220 film changeover by adjusting the pressure plate to the correct setting. The eyepiece is compatible with Nikon F3 (non-HP), FA, FE2, and FM2 diopters.
Product Family
The GA645 line includes the GA645, GA645 (v.2), GA645W, GA645Wi, GA645i, and GA645Zi. It follows the Fuji GS645 and GS645S folding 6x4.5 cameras. The GA645W has a 45mm f/4 Biogon-style lens with a field of view similar to a 24mm lens on a 35mm camera. The GA645i adds a second shutter release and a barcode reader that automatically sets film speed for Fuji medium-format films. The GA645Zi features a 55-90mm zoom lens.
Reception & Use
One reviewer initially dismissed the camera as a toy but changed their mind after renting it for a trip to California, ultimately purchasing it. They praised the 60mm lens as "deadly sharp" even wide open and noted its pleasant rendering. The metering system was found to be highly accurate, maintaining exposure consistency within 1/10 of a stop across varying light. Autofocus performance was described simply as "well." The camera can beep after each exposure and at the 14th or 28th frame, though the beep is considered annoying and best turned off. Film transport and autofocus operation are somewhat loud but not obtrusive.
