Design
The R-919X features TEAC's A.R.H.S. (ACULINE Rotating Head System) reverse mechanism, using a high-precision aluminum die-cast head holder with two shield-type micro bearings and an alumina ceramic stopper (99.5% purity). It combines this with a unique head elevation triple gear system. The deck uses a twin capstan and a 3-motor system, with separate power supplies for the amplifier and mechanism, including a ±2 power supply and all-DC configuration in the amplifier section—directly coupling the head and amp without capacitors. Signal wiring uses LC-OFC, and gold-plated terminals are used for inputs/outputs. It includes E・M (Electro Magnetic) hysteresis and tension servo for back-tension control, two microcomputers, and multiple advanced functions: auto monitor, auto tape selector, CPS and CDS search systems, block repeat, 4-mode electronic counter, FL multi-function display, MPX filter switch, auto-rec mute (4 seconds), and manual BIAS & LEVEL calibration (±3 dB level, ±20% bias). Noise reduction includes dbx, Dolby B/C, and Dolby HX Pro.
