Design
The TC-2810 uses a Type IV cassette mechanism with an F & F (ferrite & ferrite) head, featuring an all-ferrite structure that provides high wear resistance and improved high-frequency response. It employs a direct coupling method with a low-noise transistor in the amplifier’s first stage, eliminating components like capacitors between the head and amplifier to enhance signal clarity. The drive motor is a DC servo motor with FG (frequency generator) for stable tape speed. Power is supplied via 100 VAC, dry batteries, rechargeable batteries, or car batteries, stabilized by a built-in power supply circuit and DC-DC converter. Additional features include a 3-position tape selector, 3-position microphone attenuator, ON/OFF Sony Limiter Recording switch, auto shut-off mechanism, built-in speaker with volume and tone controls, L/L + R/R mode switching, lock-type pause lever, line/microphone selector switch, and a built-in MPX filter.
