Design
The TC-2800 uses an F & F head and a DC servo motor derived from professional machines for precise tape transport. It features a frequency generator/frequency discriminator servo control system for speed regulation and includes a stabilizing power supply circuit with a DC-DC converter to maintain consistent performance across power sources. The unit supports four power options: 100 VAC, dry cells, rechargeable battery, and car battery. It includes a 20 dB microphone attenuator, a line/microphone selector switch, a tape selector for chromicassettes, and the Sony Limiter recording method.
