Marantz Model 140 Stereo Power Amplifier
A high-fidelity stereo power amplifier built by Marantz Company, a subsidiary of Superscope, featuring robust output and precision metering
Overview
The Marantz Model 140 is a stereo power amplifier designed for high-fidelity audio systems. Manufactured by Marantz Company, a subsidiary of Superscope, it delivers 80W per channel into 8Ω and 100W per channel into 4Ω with low distortion and a flat frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. It features VU meters and independent left/right peak indicators, with red lighting to signal current limiting during clipping or low-impedance conditions. The amplifier uses Fairchild P D200W output transistors and is part of the "Classic Models Reference" list.
