Agfa Agfamatic 2000 Pocket Sensor (1973)
A 1973 plastic-bodied 110 film camera with fixed-focus optics and Agfa’s signature “ratchet” film advance.
Overview
The Agfa Agfamatic 2000 Pocket Sensor is a 110 film pocket camera made by Agfa Kamerawerk AG and released in 1973. It was Agfa's first "Ritsch-Ratsch-Klick" camera for the 110 format, using a ratchet operation system that advances the film and cocks the shutter when the camera is opened and closed. The camera has a fixed-focus 26mm Color-Agnar lens with a minimum focus distance of 1.2 meters and offers shutter speeds of 1/50 s and 1/100 s. Designed for simplicity, it requires no batteries and operates entirely mechanically.

Design
The camera features a mix of chrome and plastic construction and operates purely mechanically without batteries. Its "ratchet" operation system—activated by opening and closing the camera—advances the film and cocks the shutter with a distinctive "Ritsch-Ratsch-Klick" action. It won the iF Product Design Award in 1974.
Context
Agfa was a major early third-party manufacturer for Kodak's 110 film format, introduced in 1972. The Agfamatic 2000 Pocket Sensor was part of Agfa's Agfamatic series of pocket cameras and shared design similarities with variants sold under other names, such as the "Revue Pocket 50."
Market
The camera is only available on the used market, with representative prices ranging from ~$5 to $25 USD. A common issue is non-functional original flashbars.
