Entry-level 110 film pocket camera with fixed focus and flashcube support, made by Agfa Camera Werk AG.
Overview
The Agfa Agfamatic 1000 pocket Sensor is a viewfinder camera designed for 110 cartridge film, produced by Agfa Camera Werk AG from 1974 to 1976. It belongs to the Agfamatic pocket sensor series for 110 film and was positioned as an entry-level model in Agfa's popular "Ritsch-Ratsch-Klick" line of pocket cameras. The camera uses 13 x 17 mm Pocketfilm and features fixed focus from 1.2 meters. It shares its film transport mechanism with Kodak’s 110 cameras and the simpler Agfa Autostar pocket model. The 110 cartridge film system itself was originally developed by Kodak.

Design
The camera resembles a typical Agfa "Ritsch-Ratsch-Klick" model but is constructed to slide together for transport. Cocking the shutter and advancing the film are performed via a slider on the bottom of the camera. The shutter blades are located externally, positioned in front of a deeply recessed lens to help protect against dirt. The shutter release includes Agfa's red sensor point—a round membrane made of red foil framed with a metal ring. Two housing versions exist: one where the shutter release is covered when slid together, and another featuring a small viewing window for the release.
Context
The Agfamatic 1000 pocket Sensor is part of the Agfamatic pocket sensor series for 110 film and belongs to the broader 1000/2000/... series that accepted magicubes. It was succeeded in 1978 by the Agfa Agfamatic 1000 S pocket Sensor. As an entry-level model, it competed within the 110 film market dominated by Kodak’s system, offering a simple, mechanical design aimed at casual photographers.
