Technics SU-V6X (1983–1986)
A solid-state integrated DC amplifier with computer-driven bias control, released by Technics in 1983.
Overview
The Technics SU-V6X is a stereo integrated DC amplifier produced from 1984 to 1986, originally priced at ¥69,800 when it debuted in 1983. It belongs to the SU-V series, sharing design lineage with the SU-V1X, SU-V2X, SU-V4X, and SU-V7X models. This amplifier features a unique power linear circuit developed by Technics, combining advanced NFB (negative feedback) theory with a synchronous bias circuit for improved linearity and performance.

Design
The SU-V6X uses a computer-driven class A amplification system, featuring a microcomputer for the first time worldwide to control amplifier bias. It incorporates a proprietary power linear circuit based on enhanced linear feedback and NFB loop design, enabling high linearity and low distortion. A synchronous bias circuit ensures stable operation, while a low-loss, high-capacity power transformer and low-ESR capacitors provide a robust power supply. The phono stage uses ultra-low noise FETs, and the tone control circuit employs main NF (bass) and NF-CR (treble) types for high SN ratio and minimal distortion. Rear-panel terminals support external devices like graphic equalizers.
