Design
The L-509F features a double-layer chassis constructed with a 2mm thick steel plate and a 1.6mm thick aluminum plate for rigidity and vibration resistance. It uses a large 600VA EI-type power transformer and a power supply section with two 22,000μF capacitors to ensure stable operation. The volume control is a high-quality ALPS motor-driven potentiometer, and the circuit employs Luxman’s proprietary ODNF (Only Distortion Negative Feedback) design to minimize distortion.
Context
The L-509F was positioned as the flagship model of Luxman’s 'F' series, reflecting the brand’s focus on high-fidelity performance and balanced sound reproduction. It is recognized in the Classic Models Reference as a notable amplifier from the brand’s 1990s lineup.
