Luxman L 507F (2001)
A high-end integrated amplifier from Luxman’s f-Series, released in 2001 with advanced circuitry and modular expandability.
Overview
The Luxman L-507F is an integrated amplifier released in October 2001 as part of Luxman’s premium f-Series. Designed as a pre-main amplifier, it combines a high-quality preamplifier and power amplifier in one chassis, with the ability to be upgraded into a separate system using external power or control amplifiers. It supports bi-amping and multi-amping configurations, making it adaptable to complex audio setups. The amplifier features a wireless remote control and includes an unswitched AC outlet for powering other components.

Design
The L-507F uses Luxman’s ODNF (Optimal Discrete Non-feedback) circuit in the power amplifier section, also found in the M-7f and C-7f models. It features an ultra-wide-band, high-slew rate, low-distortion signal path that eliminates the need for phase correction. The design avoids DC servo amplifiers for ultra-low frequency control and uses a thick, vibration-resistant chassis with isolated blocks shielded by plates to prevent interference. Power transformers, capacitors, and amplifier sections are spatially separated in a BOX structure. Internal filtering is reinforced to suppress flux interference and external noise. Custom Luxman parts include carbon film resistors, power transformers, block and electrolytic capacitors, copper bus bars, and high-purity cabling. The amplifier includes both RCA and balanced input terminals, plus large proprietary speaker terminals compatible with banana plugs and Y lugs. A logarithmic compression power meter with an 8 mm acrylic face is featured on the front panel, and the chassis has a precision hairline finish for a high-quality appearance.
Context
The L-507F belongs to Luxman’s f-Series, a line developed with a complete circuit and design overhaul from earlier integrated models. It is designed for system expansion, allowing integration with other power and control amplifiers to create a fully separated setup. It can also be used in bi-amp or multi-amp configurations by adding external power amplifiers. For home theater compatibility, the optimal volume setting is -14dB on the main control.
