Design

The JBL 2600 was developed based on the design concept of the Everest DD55000, featuring a 30 cm ME120HS woofer with a Phi Bagras composite cone, Aqua+ damping, and a large magnetic circuit. The high-frequency section uses a horn-type tweeter combining the newly developed H2600 horn and the professional 2426H driver. The H2600 horn, directly related to the DD55000, uses a unique 3-D curved surface shaped with JBL’s proprietary horn design and acoustic analysis technologies to disperse mid and high frequencies broadly and evenly. The enclosure uses a wedge-shaped design to optimize baffle area, eliminate internal standing waves, and support horn performance. It includes side-mounted speaker terminals for biwiring and easier cable access.

Context

The JBL 2600 is directly related to the Everest DD55000, carrying forward its high-fidelity horn-loaded design philosophy into a dedicated floor-standing speaker system for home use.
