The RC80 was the first Garrard model to feature a magnetic cartridge, marking a shift toward improved audio fidelity. It was also offered as the RC80M variant, used within the Trixette A380 console unit. Large numbers were sold in the USA, and units were shipped from Holland to Indonesia in the early 1950s.
