Design
The enclosure is hermetically sealed, enhancing bass precision and system stability. Carbon fiber vibration plates are used in both the 25 cm and 16 cm drivers for lightweight rigidity. The 5 cm and 2.5 cm dome units employ polyimide resin diaphragms coated with diamond to improve high-frequency clarity and durability. The exterior is finished in natural walnut wood, and the system includes a large gold-plated connector for bi-wiring or multi-amplifier setups. An attenuator for each driver section is mounted on the top of the enclosure, allowing fine-tuning of tonal balance.
Market
The Altec Lansing Model 511 originally retailed for ¥540,000 per unit around 1990.
