The Altec Lansing 878B Santiago is a two-way, two-speaker floor type system developed around 1975. It replaces the earlier 878A Santiago model and features a 38 cm cone-type low-frequency driver (411A) paired with a horn-type high-frequency driver (806-8A + 811B). Designed for high-fidelity audio reproduction, it uses Altec’s renowned "Voice of the Theatre" components, known for smooth, uncolored sound with high efficiency and flat response. The system includes a dedicated N801-8A crossover network with an 800 Hz crossover point.
