Accuphase T-109V (1999–2005)
FM stereo tuner with quartz synthesis, advanced DGL detection, and 32-station memory, produced from May 1999 to June 2005.
Overview
The Accuphase T-109V is an FM stereo tuner developed as an upgrade to the 1993 T-109, offering refined sonic characteristics and performance. Manufactured from May 1999 to June 2005, it features a redesigned front panel to match the styling of contemporary Accuphase components. The tuner includes a quartz synthesizer tuning system and a pulse tuning control via a manual rotary knob, with station presets for 32 FM stations. It supports both balanced and unbalanced audio outputs and includes a remote commander for operation.

Design
The T-109V’s front-end uses a double-tuned antenna circuit and a cascode amplifier FET with minimal feedback for high-frequency amplification. The input gate includes a PIN diode attenuator controlled by a microcomputer based on antenna signal level. The detection section employs an Advanced DGL (Differential Gain Linear) circuit with a 2.4 MHz wide-band amplifier, a high-speed comparator, and a delay circuit using 24 high-speed C-MOS ICs to delay phase by 114 degrees, minimizing distortion and maximizing signal-to-noise ratio. The stereo decoder uses a ceramic resonator and a voltage-controlled positive/negative reactance circuit within a PLL system to generate a precise 38 kHz switching signal.
Context
The T-109V is positioned as an evolution of the T-109, offering improved sound quality and performance. It is listed among Accuphase’s classic tuner models, including the T-100, T-101, and T-106, reflecting its role in the brand’s high-fidelity product lineage.
