Overview
The Accuphase E-213 is an integrated amplifier combining both preamplifier and power amplifier sections in one chassis, released in April 2005 as part of the E-200 series. It delivers 115 watts per channel into 4 ohms with a total harmonic distortion of just 0.04% across a 4 Ω ~ 16 Ω load. Designed for high-fidelity audio systems, it supports high-level, balanced, and main inputs, includes tone controls with ±10 dB adjustment at 300 Hz and 3 kHz, and features a loudness compensator that adds +6 dB at 200 Hz when volume is set to -30 dB.

Design
Both the preamplifier and power amplifier sections use Accuphase’s MCS (Multiple Circuit Summing-up) circuitry, where dual independent amplifier circuits process the same signal with shared feedback for summed output. The preamp employs parallel amplifiers in a complete MCS configuration, while the power amp uses a current feedback design with multi-emitter power transistors in parallel push-pull. Signal switching is handled by gold-plated, closed-type communication relays under logic control. The tone control uses a fully additive active filter system, and the amplifier includes an analog logarithmic peak power meter with dB/% display. A large 400 VA transformer and two 22,000 μF filter capacitors supply power, mounted with heat-conductive, anti-vibration filler. The unit features an EXT-PRE switch and power amp input terminals for external preamp use, a large speaker terminal, high carbon cast iron insulators on the feet, and a wireless remote control (RC-23). An optional board enables digital input and analog record playback.
