Accuphase E-211 (1991–1994)

Dual-mono integrated amplifier with current feedback topology and logic-controlled signal routing

Overview

The Accuphase E-211 is an integrated stereo amplifier manufactured by Accuphase Laboratory, Inc. from 1991 to 1994. It succeeded the E-206 and was replaced by the E-212. The amplifier features a dual-mono design with separate power supplies for each channel and a triple-parallel push-pull output stage using three pairs of output transistors per channel. Signal routing is handled by logic-controlled relays, and the unit includes balanced inputs, two sets of speaker outputs, high-quality tone controls, a subsonic filter, and a supplied remote commander. An optional phono card (MM/MC) can be installed for high-quality analog disc reproduction.

Design

The E-211 uses a dual-mono architecture with independent power supplies for each channel, enhancing channel separation and reducing crosstalk. The power amplifier section employs a triple-parallel push-pull configuration with three pairs of output transistors per channel. A high-precision conductive plastic potentiometer is used for volume control, and the amplifier includes a high-quality phono equalizer for moving magnet cartridges.

Market

Current market listings show prices ranging from €1,550 to $2,500, with units listed at €1,849 and €1,899 by European retailers. Accuphase products are noted to tend to hold their value. The E-211 is described as an excellent integrated amplifier with a "very nice liquid and musical sound," In an A/B comparison with the Musical Fidelity A5.5, it was judged to have a better presentation but less authority and slam.
