Design

The C-202 uses fully balanced circuitry from input to output, with JFETs at every stage and no ICs or capacitors in the signal path. The CD signal path includes only a -20dB attenuator and volume control, and the dedicated CD buffer uses a class A push-pull balanced circuit in all stages. The balanced input amplifier for CD employs a differential push-pull circuit, and the input buffer uses a cascode connection driven by a cascode push-pull stage. Input switching and tape monitoring are handled by sealed audio-grade relays with a crossbar twin contact system. The power supply features a large-capacity toroidal transformer, dedicated rectifiers for left and right channels, four 10,000 μF filter capacitors, and a multiple power supply system with constant voltage regulators for each amplifier block. Natural Persimmon sideboards are fitted on both sides.
